Glimpse of Grace

Dashing for Dessert

Posted by Jennifer Beasley on

Happy weekend everyone! How was your week? It has been a busy one here and will be an even busier one this weekend! Be sure to read through to the end to get the full scoop on the events you can participate in and/or share with others.

We received a beautiful thank you card from Rush Oak Park hospital for the cards our students made for patients who were unable to be home for the holidays. We are grateful to help when needed and look forward to continuing to do so. If you become aware of any ways we can be of service in the community, please let us know. You can email me at or call me at 708. 320.3019.

Our sixth graders wrapped their lesson on sound by making their own instruments. They were to create an instrument that would play five pitches and performed “Mary Had a Little Lamb”.

The sixth graders were also busy sculpting. They are studying ancient China and created their own model-magic figurines to replicate the 1st Emperor of China Shi Huangdi’s terra-cotta figures.

Yesterday, students enjoyed our revamped Hot Lunch program. They gathered in the fellowship hall and enjoyed our new lunch items. Don’t forget to order for  the next hot lunch on

In fact, why don’t you plan to come as well? We are always in need of help with setting up, serving and cleaning up. You can sign up on our Viking Volunteers page and connect with our students and other parents.

Tomorrow is the day! Our Open House is from 1 to 2 p.m. We hope to see many new families’ faces and share Grace with them. We are grateful for our eighth graders’ enthusiasm, time and gifts in sharing our school with prospective families.

Shortly after that, we will be heading over to the sock free zone…Wonder Works. We are taking part in the Child Care Meet & Greet. Stop by our table and say hi! Also, invite families you know who are looking for an amazing Early Childhood Program. It should be a fun day!

As we count down to A Graceful Evening (AGE), there are many opportunities to celebrate leading up to the event itself. The best way to stay updated and get all the information is to follow the AGE Facebook page. It’s the perfect place to get information on the fundraising and sponsorship opportunities, purchase tickets, ask questions, and more!

Mark your calendars for next week's A Taste For Grace.  RSVP here!

Get your dashing shoes on to prepare for the AGE Dessert Dash. Sign up now!

Lots of exciting things happening at Grace! Wishing you all a lovely weekend and wonderful week ahead.
