Many Grateful moments at Grace are wrapped in our Sunday morning worship – we are thankful for ushers, musicians, and members who serve on the Board of Worship who prepare communion and plan for altar flowers. We are grateful for our pastors, assisting ministers and elders who guide us through our worship time together.
But what about the moments and the people who serve “behind the scenes,” those who help plan and work on events and gatherings that add to the richness of our spiritual life together?
A shout of gratitude goes to the folks who gave of their time to help make the Grace Church and School picnic a success. Volunteers served in a variety of ways from set-up to clean-up, planning games and activities to serving food and beverages. And how about those Grill Masters?? That was one skilled group of cooks!
On September 8, we welcomed another year of Sunday School, pre-Confirmation and Confirmation classes. Parents gathered in Fellowship Hall for some social time and an introduction to the Sunday School and Pre-Confirmation curriculum. Confirmation students learned about their serving in worship as crucifers and Bible bearers. We are grateful for Julie Modrich, our Children’s Ministry Coordinator, and all those who volunteer to help our children learn about and grow in their faith.
There may even be some who were grateful to see Pastor Lyle sporting his Packers’ cap from the pulpit on Sunday, September 8! (It helped him explain an idea in his sermon -- he wasn't gloating about the Green Bay victory.)
For what do you give thanks? What brings you a sense of gratitude as you enter the doors for worship, meet with committees or spend time with students and teachers at Grace School?
Is there a glimpse of Grace you’ve witnessed that made you think to yourself or say out loud, “I’m grateful for Grace”?
We invite you to share your thoughts—and even photos—of the moments that bring you gratitude for what God is doing here at Grace.
