Faith formation for children
Age 3 through 4th grade
Sunday School classes meet at 9:45am on Sunday mornings, from September through May. Sunday School opens with songs and story-telling in the third-floor school commons. Children then move into classrooms for age-group activities related to the lesson. The youngest students (age 3 and 4) meet in Grace's preschool classroom to hear Bible stories, make crafts and sing songs.
The Sunday School curriculum follows the lectionary (the scripture lessons appointed for Sunday worship throughout the church year). Children study the same Bible stories that are read and preached about in worship services.
Older students (grades 5–8) participate in confirmation instruction.

First Communion instruction
Fourth grade students meet with the pastors weekly at 9:45am on Sunday mornings in Lent, to learn about Holy Communion, in preparation for receiving the sacrament for the first time on Palm Sunday. Children who may already be receiving communion participate in these classes with their peers. (For more information about children and communion, please talk with the pastors.)
Vacation Bible School
Each June, shortly after school gets out, children ages 4 through rising sixth graders enjoy a full week of fun in Vacation Bible School. Classes meet in the morning. An extended day option is available for a fee for families who need childcare in the afternoon.
