Reminder: Daylight Savings Time ends on Saturday night; move clocks back one hour.
Our focus at Grace Lutheran School is to prepare our children for a life of discipleship. One example of the student body already living this out is in our chapel offerings for Phil’s Friends. As a faculty, we set an ambitious goal of raising $1000 in chapel offerings by the end of October. I am pleased to announce that we have exceeded $1100 in offerings over the last eight weeks. Thanks goes out to everyone involved in this effort. We will continue to designate chapel offerings to Phil’s Friends in November and December. Let’s set a goal of another $1000 over the last seven weeks of this calendar year.

Time to send in your Box Tops! This year’s “Angry Birds” theme for the Box Tops for Education contest will run for the entire school year. We’re shooting for $1600 in Box Tops.
What you need to know: 1) Every class can “unlock” prize levels for bringing in Box Tops. So every class can win prizes all year long! 2) Every month we’ll announce the winner of the “travelling trophy” (angry bird pig pillow) for the class that has the most Box Tops turned in that month. 3) The class that brings in the most Box Tops this year will win a pampering 30-minute massage for their teacher. 4) If the school can bring in $1600 in Box Tops this school year, Mr. Koehne will let us spray paint his hair “Vikings colors”: red and white!
Connect with family, friends and colleagues and ask them to collect Box Tops this year for our school. Any questions, please contact Rachel Leininger ( or 708-606-7174). See www.boxtops4education.com for a complete list of products and other ways you can earn Box Tops and e-Box Tops!
