Holy Communion at 8:30 and 11am
Prayer of the Day
Everlasting God, in your endless love for the human race you sent our Lord Jesus Christ to take on our nature and to suffer death on the cross. In your mercy enable us to share in his obedience to your will and in the glorious victory of his resurrection, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
"He Knows What He’s Doing"
Today is Palm Sunday, and we welcome Jesus with cries of “Hosanna!” But today is also Sunday of the Passion. We turn on the Christ, crying “Crucify!” On this day, however, the words Jesus speaks matter more than our cries. While we turn on Jesus, he turns to us with love. “Father, forgive them,” he says as the nails sink into his flesh. “Today, in paradise,” he promises to the thief. “Into your hands, Father,” he exhales. To the end, Jesus loves us. In fact, Jesus’ love changes the ending. Because of Jesus’ self-giving love, you are forgiven for a future in the Father’s hands. Behold, the life-giving cross on which was hung the salvation of the whole world.
