Christ the King Sunday
Holy Communion at 8:30 and 11am
Prayer of the Day
O God of power and might, your Son shows us the way of service, and in him we inherit the riches of your grace. Give us the wisdom to know what is right and the strength to serve the world you have made, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
Ezekiel 34:11-16, 20-24
"Flocking to the King"
Today is Christ the King Sunday, marking the end of our church year and anticipating the end of history. In his final parable, Jesus speaks of his future return. Throned in glory and surrounded by angels, Jesus separates the people, the good from the bad, in a great and final sorting. “Lord,” we ask, “when did we see you but fail to take care of you?” The only honest answer is that we have failed in just this way so many times. What are we to do? Are we bound for eternal punishment? Or are we perhaps invited to see beyond the sheep and the goats
