Prayer of the Day

Almighty God, you have knit your people together in one communion in the mystical body of your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Grant us grace to follow your blessed saints in lives of faith and commitment, and to know the inexpressible joys you have prepared for those who love you, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Scripture

Isaiah 25:6-9
Psalm 24
Revelation 21:1-6a
John 11:32-44

Sermon
“See the King of Glory”
Isaiah 25:6-9, Psalm 24, John 11:32-44

Who is this one who weeps with us? The one who will wipe away all tears. Who is this one who cries out in sorrow? The one who loves us and knows our sorrows completely. Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord? Through faith we see that It is the one who has ascended the hill outside of Jerusalem. Who is this King of Glory? The one who has been lifted up on the tree of the cross. The one who has descended into death itself and has been raised up again. He is the King of Glory. This one speaks and the hungry are fed and the dead are raised. One day he will call each of us by name, beckoning us from our graves, and will lead us with all the saints into life everlasting. “Then it will be said on that day: This is the Lord for whom we have waited; let us be glad and rejoice in his salvation.”
