Social Ministry projects: school supplies and lunches for The Night Ministry

School supply drive
The Social Ministry Committee is sponsoring a school supply drive. School supplies needed are primarily for elementary-age students, including new backpacks, paper, notebooks, notecards, binders, markers (thin and thick), scissors, glue, pencils and pens. Donations may be brought to church August 1-15. The building is open 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday through Thursday, 8:30am–12:30pm on Fridays, and on Sunday mornings for worship services.

All supplies will be delivered to the Chicago Lutheran Education Foundation (CLEF) to be distributed to schools experiencing the greatest need.

Lunches for clients of The Night Ministry
On August 18 and September 15, Grace volunteers will be supplying lunches for people served by The Night Ministry in Chicago The Social Ministry Committee asks that each volunteer prepare 10 bagged lunches that include a sandwich (turkey and cheese or peanut butter and jelly are preferred), fruit, a snack (chips or fruit/granola bar), and a bottle of water.
